Cleaning and Care of Electropolished Stainless Steel Surfaces
Like all high value items, stainless steel parts should be cleaned regularly. The cleaning intervals depend on the degree of soiling and personal preference. The dependency of the care and cleaning effort on the roughness of the surface is clear: the rougher the surface, the easier it is for deposits (from normal dirt to bacteria) to find an adhesive base, and the more difficult and time-consuming the cleaning. Electropolished surfaces are smooth and closed in the micro range and their expansion is reduced by more than 80% compared to ground surfaces. The absence of tension and low potential energy of the structure largely prevent adhesion processes that could lead to the formation of deposits and ensure very favourable cleaning and hygiene behaviour.
